Concealed Pistol License (CPL) Class – Belleville, MI Wayne County Community College – Belleville Campus 9555 Haggerty Road, Belleville, MI 48111 This Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL) class meets and exceeds all state requirements and is taught by Amy Lucas, owner of Steel & Stilettos Firearms Training, a retired law enforcement professional with over 30 years of firearms training instructor experience. This one-day course goes beyond the basics. Students will participate in an in-depth review of Michigan firearm laws, safe handling, transportation, storage, and responsible carry practices. We also focus heavily on situational awareness, conflict avoidance, and how to stay safe without needing to use your firearm. A key highlight of this class is a special presentation on the aftermath of self-defense, covering the legal, financial, and emotional realities that can follow a defensive incident—an essential topic often overlooked in many classes. After the classroom portion, we will travel to Downriver Guns in Belleville to complete the live-fire range qualification, where students will safely apply what they have learned under professional supervision. Michigan law requires 8 hours of instruction and a live-fire qualification of at least 30 rounds, and this course fully meets those requirements. This class is ideal for beginners, first-time gun owners, or anyone seeking their Michigan CPL in a supportive, professional learning environment. Come train with experience you can trust and leave with the confidence and knowledge to carry safely and responsibly.

Amy is a terrific instructor. I’m very new to all of this, but Amy’s style is very conversational and relatable. She’s an excellent resource, really knows her subject matter and how to teach to all levels of experience. Highly recommend her class.

I recently had the opportunity to train with Amy Lucas through both the USCCA Firearms Instructor Course and the Stop the Bleed course, and I can confidently say it was an outstanding experience. Amy is not only highly knowledgeable and professional, but she is also deeply committed to the success of her students. She takes the time to ensure everyone fully understands the material and feels confident stepping into their role as a firearms instructor. Her passion for teaching and genuine care for her students truly sets her apart. The training was well-structured, thorough, and practical, giving me the tools and confidence to move forward on this new path. It’s clear that Amy isn’t just instructing—she’s investing in people. I highly recommend Amy Lucas to anyone seeking high-quality, professional, and meaningful training.
