About Shawn Crowl
My name is Shawn Crowl, Owner of Prime Defense Firearms Training LLC. I’ve trained thousands of students and am a USCCA Certified Instructor. I grew up around firearms and believe education creates safer communities. Our classes are no-pressure, no-ego—no question is a stupid question. We welcome everyone at any experience level and ensure every student receives safe, practical, and confidence-building training in a comfortable, supportive learning environment where all students can succeed.

Teaching Philosophy
I believe in no-pressure, no-ego training where no question is a stupid question. Every student deserves clear, practical instruction in a supportive environment. My goal is to build confidence, reinforce safety, and prepare students for real-world responsibility.
What Makes Me Unique
Our classes stand out with two instructors present in both the classroom and on the range, ensuring hands-on guidance and personalized attention. We also utilize a state-of-the-art shooting simulator to deliver realistic, scenario-based training that builds real-world skills and confidence.
Class Expectations
Students can expect a structured classroom session followed by live-fire training. We focus on safety, fundamentals, and real-world application in a no-pressure, no-ego environment where questions are encouraged and every student builds confidence.

Shawn and Gerry did a wonderful job of keeping the class interesting, engaging and instructive. Every question was answered and my family and I walked away with so much knowledge about weapon and personal safety. Without exaggerating, it has changed our lives. The time on the range was my first time shooting a gun. They were both very patient and positive and I feel more confident in handling a gun, should it ever be necessary. Thank you
